This is an Eames Aluminum Group Soft Pad Lounge Chair and coordinating Ottoman, models EA414 and EA223, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1969. These pieces date to the 1990s and have been freshly reupholstered in fine grey leather with correct Herman Miller pads. Their design features a cast aluminum frame with a 5-star antler base, and has 3 thick padded cushions along its back. It is quite unusual to find this armless configuration.
The chair measures 31 inches deep, 26 inches wide, and is 35.25 inches high. It has a seat height of 17 inches. The ottoman measures 21.5 inches long, 21.5 inches wide, and is 19.75 inches high. Both the chair and the ottoman are done in grey leather, but the ottoman’s leather appears just a hair darker than the chair. There is some normal wear to the aluminum, though the arms appear nearly immaculate. Overall, this lounge set is in very good to excellent condition with some wear apparent. Please see photos.
